  National Hepatitis Program

National Hepatitis Program for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis started in 2006 all over Pakistan. Department of Medicine, Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi is one of the sentinel site for the program. In the liver research clinic chronic hepatitis patients (candidates for therapy) are facilitated by fixed protocols which include

  • Registration
  • Complete workup
  • Delivery of medication
  • Follow up during and after therapy

For prevention, vaccination program for health care workers and general public is also running in the liver research clinic.

Data of National Hepatitis program is published in the annual report 2006.
